PhD Computational Drug Design

Job description:
For the development and validation of novel methods to predict biological effects of small molecules to macromolecular targets, we are seeking a highly motivated PhD student for up to 4 years to start in April 2010 (50%, Salary class IIa BAT). Since this position is financed by the University, about 100 hours of teaching (student supervision in a chemistry lab) will be required.
The ideal candidate should hold a diploma/master degree in computational or pharmaceutical/medicinal chemistry or equivalent qualification (to be admitted for the PhD studies) and should have a strong interest in cheminformatics and computational drug design. Good knowledge of English and German basic skills are required. Knowledge in computer science and/or programming knowledge would be an advantage.
