Bioinformatician job at LIMES University of Bonn Germany

The LIMES (Life and Medical Sciences) Institute is part of the Faculty of Mathematical and Natural Sciences at the University of Bonn. The Institute has been established to foster molecular research spanning from immunology to metabolism using a broad spectrum of cutting-edge technologies including state-of-the-art genomic technologies. In this regard, the Department for Genomics and Immunoregulation at the LIMES-Institute has recently established a Next-Generation Sequencing Facility and is now seeking to broaden the field of bioinformatics and systems biology.

The LIMES Institute invites applications for the position of a Bioinformatician (E13, TVL-13) as member of the Department of Genomics and Immunoregulation

We are looking for a scientist actively working in the field of transcriptional regulation based on high throughput data analysis with a strong focus on biological network analysis. Other fields of theoretical biology / biomathematics are also welcome. It is expected that the candidate closely cooperates with other scientists of the institute and international research groups. We offer a highly motivating environment, flexible working hours, and ability to work independently.

The candidate should have a strong background in biology and mathematics / bioinformatics. We expect the candidate to demonstrate substantial experience in the analysis of high-throughput data with an emphasis on transcriptional regulation. We further expect a highly motivated candidate with international experience.
Salary and benefits are according to a public service position in Germany (E13, TVL-13).

The LIMES Institute advocates gender equality. Women are therefore strongly encouraged to apply. Equally qualified severely handicapped applicants will be given preference.

The contract will start as soon as possible and will initially be restricted to 30.06.2013 with a possibility of extension up to five years. An extension will be subject to personal performance.

Please send your application by e-mail attachment, including a detailed CV, successful grant applications (if available), and up to five publications to Prof. Dr. Joachim L. Schultze, Head of the Department of Genomics and Immunoregulation (e-mail: office.immunogenomics@uni-bonn.de) at the latest 15.06.2011.
